Cisco Catalyst 1300 48-Port PoE+
The Cisco C1300-48P-4X is a Catalyst 1300 managed Gigabit access switch with 48 PoE+ copper ports and four 10G SFP+ uplinks. It targets wiring closets that need 802.3at power for phones, cameras, and wireless APs plus 10G aggregation to a core or distribution layer. The Catalyst 1300 family sits in Cisco’s small-business / mid-market line with a web UI and CLI, and it can join Cisco Business Dashboard. PoE budget is finite; size cameras and APs against the published watt budget rather than assuming all 48 ports can draw 30 W at once.
Additionally, 10G uplinks keep east-west and uplink congestion lower than 1G SFP designs when many APs backhaul video. Therefore this SKU is a common step-up from 1G-only Catalyst 1200 / CBS350 layouts. However, SFP+ optics are ordered separately. Consequently, match fibre type and distance (SR, LR, DAC) to the far-end switch before go-live.
