Description
6 Gbps Internal Drive Link
The Vention KDDRD SATA cable links a 7-pin SATA drive to a motherboard header over a 0.5 m run. It carries the SATA III 6 Gbps signalling rate and stays backward compatible with SATA II and SATA I ports. Metal latches on both plugs hold the connector seated inside cramped chassis bays.
Tinned copper strands in 26 AWG and 28 AWG sizes form the differential pairs. Aluminium foil shielding blocks crosstalk from adjacent power runs and fan cables. Gold plating on the contacts keeps resistance stable through repeated drive swaps. The red PVC jacket makes the lead easy to trace during service.
The short 0.5 m span suits 2.5-inch SSDs, 3.5-inch hard drives and slim optical drives in mid-tower and small-form-factor builds. No driver install is required, and the drive enumerates as soon as it receives power. Operating temperature spans 0°C to 80°C.
Key Features
6 Gbps SATA III Signalling
The lead meets the SATA Revision 3.0 electrical requirement and moves data at the drive interface ceiling.Dual-Gauge Tinned Copper Cores
- 26 AWG conductors carry the transmit and receive pairs
- 28 AWG ground returns sit between the data lines
- Tinned strands resist oxidation in humid cabinets
Aluminium Foil Shielding
A foil screen limits electromagnetic coupling from power supplies and chassis fans.Latched 7-Pin Plugs
Each connector carries a metal clip that locks into the drive and board receptacle.Gold-Plated Contacts
Plated pins hold contact resistance low across frequent drive changes.Compact Red Assembly
The 0.5 m jacket length removes slack coils behind the motherboard tray and eases cable tracing.Plug-and-Play Enumeration
The assembly needs no driver and appears to the host once the drive receives power.Bend Tolerance
The PVC jacket sustains a minimum bend radius of about 15 mm during routing.

Why Choose the KDDRD
The 0.5 m reach lands on a drive bay without leaving a coil of slack behind the tray.
Latched plugs stay seated during transport and in benches that see frequent drive changes.
Foil screening and tinned copper cores protect signal quality in cases with dense power routing.
Gold-plated pins keep contact resistance steady through repeated service cycles.
One part covers older SATA II boards and current SATA III drives in mixed fleets.

Bought this for a new SSD build and the 0.5m length was just right for the case layout. The red colour makes it easy to trace inside the chassis. Drive was detected first time and speeds look normal.
Mary Wanjiku (verified owner) –
The connectors clip in firmly on both the drive and motherboard ends. Tinned copper conductors feel solid. Good quality cable for a simple upgrade.
Kevin Mwangi (verified owner) –
Works fine, no issues.
Faith Nekesa (verified owner) –
Used it to connect an optical drive in an old office desktop. The 7-pin layout matched perfectly and the cable was flexible enough to route through tight space. Delivery came within the week and the packaging was neat.

Decent SATA 3.0 cable, does what it says. I like that it is short, so there is no clutter inside the case. Would have preferred a slightly stiffer jacket, but it works well.
