Description
Legacy Display Interface Bridge
The Vention DVI to VGA adapter links a DVI-I output to a VGA display input without signal conversion hardware. It passes the analog RGBHV lines from the DVI-I connector to the HD15 plug. The passive design needs no power and adds no latency.
The input accepts a DVI-I (24+5) female socket, which carries both digital and analog pins. The output is a standard D-Sub 15-pin HD male plug for VGA monitors and projectors. Gold-plated contacts resist oxidation across repeated mating cycles. The adapter supports resolutions up to 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz.
The housing uses a black PVC shell that measures approximately 40 mm long and weighs 29 g. An integrated moulded body removes the cable strain that affects dongle-style adapters. This unit works only in the DVI-I to VGA direction; it cannot convert VGA analog back to DVI digital. Source devices must supply analog signals on the DVI-I connector.
Key Features
DVI-I Analog Pass-Through
The adapter routes the four analog pairs (red, green, blue, H-sync, V-sync) from the DVI-I socket to the VGA plug.Passive Signal Path
No active circuitry, firmware or power supply sits between the source and display.Gold-Plated Contacts
Connector pins receive a gold flash that lowers contact resistance and limits corrosion.Compact Moulded Housing
- Black PVC body measures roughly 40 mm in length
- Gross weight near 29 g reduces port strain
- No external cable to manage behind equipment
Resolution Ceiling
The link supports 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz, 3D frame packing and Full HD video.Directional Design
Signal flow runs from DVI-I female input to VGA male output only, so VGA-to-DVI conversion needs a different part.

Why Choose Vention
The passive analog bridge adds no latency, so legacy monitors and projectors respond immediately to source changes.
Gold-plated pins maintain a stable connection through repeated desk and rack reconfiguration.
The moulded 29 g body places minimal mechanical load on graphics card and display ports.
A single integrated part replaces separate DVI and VGA cable assemblies in retrofit projects.
The adapter supports 1080p60 signals for standard office, classroom and signage displays.

We keep a few of these in the IT store for legacy monitors. The VGA side fits snugly and the pins have not bent after several plug cycles. Does the job without fuss.

Simple adapter that does exactly what it says. Screws on both ends hold firm and the black finish matches our monitor cables.

Ordered two for our training room setups and they arrived quickly. Note that this only carries the analog DVI signal, so it will not work on a pure DVI-D graphics card. Check your port first.

Used this to connect an older VGA projector to a PC with only DVI output. Signal came through clean with no ghosting. The adapter body feels solid.
