The Ugreen LP258 laptop stand stores a closed notebook upright to free desk space for an external monitor and keyboard. The aluminum alloy frame measures 150 × 79 × 51 mm and weighs 176 g. A thumb screw sets the slot width from 12 to 26 mm.
Silicone pads line the slot and the base. The pads protect the laptop chassis from scuffs and keep the stand from sliding on the desk. The open-bottom design lets air move under the closed lid. The stand suits ultrabooks and standard business laptops up to 15.6 inches.
The LP258 works as a storage dock rather than a typing riser. It holds the device vertically while the user works on an external display. We bought several of these for our shared workstations in Westlands. The adjustable width means one stand covers both our 13-inch Ultrabooks and the older 14-inch HP units. The rubber padding inside the jaws protects the laptop finish. Staff like that the laptops sit upright and keep the desk surface clear for paperwork. Only reason for four stars is that the base screws need a firm hand to stop any rocking on uneven desks.
