Description
Eight-Bay Desktop Network Storage
The Ugreen DXP8800 Plus NAS is an eight-bay desktop storage enclosure that pairs a 12th-generation Intel Core i5-1235U processor with dual 10GbE networking and Thunderbolt 4. It ships diskless, so administrators choose their own SATA drives and M.2 modules. UGOS Pro boots from a dedicated 128GB SSD, keeping the operating system separate from user data pools.
Key Features
Intel Core i5-1235U Deca-Core Processing
Ten cores and twelve threads reach 4.4GHz turbo with a 12MB smart cache. The processor handles media indexing, virtual machines and Docker containers without a second compute node.Dual 10GbE Network Ports
Two RJ45 ports auto-negotiate from 100Mb up to 10Gb and aggregate into a 20Gb bond. Link aggregation and failover sustain throughput during large transfers and sync jobs.Thunderbolt 4 Direct Attach
- Two Thunderbolt 4 Type-C ports transfer at up to 40Gb/s per link.
- DisplayPort Alt Mode drives a single 8K display over the same connector.
DDR5 Memory Platform
8GB of DDR5-4800 ships installed across two SODIMM slots. Capacity scales to 64GB, and on-die ECC protects memory transfers.Storage and Expansion
- Eight hot-swap bays accept 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch SATA hard drives or SSDs.
- Two M.2 2280 NVMe slots act as read/write cache or fast storage tiers.
- One PCIe x4 slot takes a network or acceleration card.
RAID and File System Support
Storage pools run JBOD, Basic, RAID 0, 1, 5, 6 or 10. Internal volumes use ext4 or Btrfs; external media read NTFS, exFAT, FAT32 and XFS.Thermal and Power Behaviour
Dual fans push air across the drive cage and hold acoustics near 29dB idle, rising toward 34dB under load. Drive access draws 70.39W; hibernation drops to 28.99W.

The dual 10GbE ports are a game changer for our video editing team. We’re pulling 4K footage straight off the NAS with zero lag, even with three editors working simultaneously. Build quality is solid, though the fans can get a bit audible under heavy load. Setup was straightforward with the built-in 128GB SSD for the system. Happy with the purchase.

I’ve been running this DXP8800 Plus for a month now. The 8 bays give plenty of room for expansion, and the two M.2 NVMe slots for cache make a noticeable difference in read speeds. I paired it with 10TB drives in RAID 6. The Thunderbolt 4 ports are a bonus for direct editing. Only wish the RAM was upgradeable beyond 8GB, but for now it’s fine. Solid unit for a serious home lab.

Delivery to Westlands was quick. Using it as a central backup for our small office. The i5 handles multiple tasks without breaking a sweat.

Good performance but the initial setup took me a while to figure out. Now that it’s running, it’s reliable for our design files.

Finally a NAS that can keep up with my 8K footage. The 8K HDMI out is a nice touch for direct monitoring. Very impressed with the build and the dual 10GbE.
