Description
Eight-Bay Desktop Storage Platform
The Ugreen DXP8800 Plus 8-Bay combines a 12th Gen Intel Core i5-1235U deca-core processor with 8GB DDR5-4800 memory and eight SATA bays. Two M.2 NVMe slots supplement the array, while a dedicated 128GB SSD holds the UGOS Pro system volume.
Dual 10GbE RJ45 ports aggregate to 20Gbps for sequential reads near 2500MB/s. Each bay accepts 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch drives, and the platform supports JBOD, Basic, RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, and 10. Raw capacity reaches 272TB with eight 32TB disks and two 8TB NVMe modules.
Two Thunderbolt 4 ports carry 40Gbps links for direct-attached editing or daisy-chained peripherals. An HDMI 2.1 output drives 8K60 displays, and a PCIe x4 slot accepts a network or storage expansion card. The aluminium chassis measures 36 × 26 × 20 cm and weighs 7.4kg before drives.
This 8-bay NAS enclosure draws about 70W during drive access and uses a rear cooling fan with dust mesh. UGOS Pro provides snapshots, remote access, and Docker containers, and the SO-DIMM slot accepts up to 64GB of DDR5 memory.
Key Features
Deca-Core Intel Processing
The i5-1235U runs 10 cores and 12 threads up to 4.40GHz with Iris Xe graphics, making this Intel i5 NAS server suitable for transcoding and indexing.Hybrid SATA and NVMe Topology
- Eight hot-swap SATA trays with aluminium caddies and dust mesh.
- Two M.2 2280 slots for read or write cache and metadata acceleration.
Dual 10GbE Link Aggregation
Two RJ45 10Gbase-T ports balance traffic and fail over when one uplink drops, supporting 10GbE network storage workloads.Thunderbolt 4 Direct Attach
Two 40Gbps Type-C ports support display output and peer-to-peer transfers without a switch.Separate System SSD
A 128GB PCIe drive holds UGOS Pro, so array rebuilds do not interrupt the operating environment.

Why Choose DXP8800 Plus
The 10GbE desktop array moves large media files without a fibre upgrade.
Aluminium trays and mesh filtration suit dusty server rooms and open offices.
This DDR5 NAS appliance runs Docker and virtual machines on the expandable memory pool.
Thunderbolt 4 NAS links reach 40Gbps to a workstation for direct editing.
UGOS Pro centralises snapshots, backup targets, and remote access in one console.

Running this as our studio backup target with four drives in RAID 5. The dual 10GbE ports push close to line speed to the switch, and the Thunderbolt 4 link to my MacBook is quick for large video file transfers. The 128GB system SSD keeps the OS separate from the storage pool, which is a neat layout.
Purity Mutua (verified owner) –
Solid NAS for a small office. The i5 handles Plex transcoding and a few VMs without strain, and the DDR5 memory is a step up from my old unit. Delivery to Nairobi took a few days.

Good unit overall, but budget for drives separately since it ships diskless. Once populated with eight drives the throughput is impressive over 10GbE. Wish the manual explained the M.2 cache setup better, took me a while to configure.
