Description

Seven-Port USB-C Expansion Hub

The Ugreen CM512 7-in-1 hub turns a single USB-C port into seven working interfaces for laptops, tablets and desktops. The aluminium chassis measures 124 x 33 x 16 mm and weighs roughly 119 g, so it slips into a laptop bag without adding bulk. A 20 cm captive cable keeps the adapter tethered to the host machine.

The HDMI 2.0 output runs 4K at 60Hz with HDCP 2.2, HDR10 and 3D frame support. Two USB-A 3.0 ports deliver 5Gbps signalling and stay backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 peripherals. An RJ45 socket auto-negotiates 10/100/1000Mbps for wired LAN access.

Power Delivery passes up to 100W from a USB-C charger through to the host, so the notebook charges while storage and network devices remain attached. SD and TF slots read UHS-I media at roughly 90MB/s. The unit draws bus power and needs no external supply for data or video operation.

Key Features

  • 4K 60Hz HDMI 2.0 Output
Drives an external monitor or projector at 3840 x 2160 and 60Hz with HDCP 2.2 content protection.

  • Dual SuperSpeed USB-A Ports
Two 5Gbps Type-A sockets accept keyboards, mice, flash drives and bus-powered 2.5-inch enclosures.

  • Gigabit Wired Networking
The RJ45 port negotiates 10/100/1000Mbps and supports full-duplex transfer for stable LAN and VPN sessions.

  • 100W Power Delivery Pass-Through

    • Accepts up to 100W from a USB-C PD charger
    • Charges the host while all seven ports stay active
    • Removes the need for a separate laptop power brick on the desk
  • SD and TF Card Readers
Both slots read UHS-I media at approximately 90MB/s for camera and drone offloads.

  • Aluminium Chassis, 20 cm Cable
A metal shell shields the PCB from interference and dissipates heat during long transfer sessions.

  1. Mercy Kilonzo (verified owner) –

The gigabit Ethernet port alone makes this worth it—no more dropping off Wi-Fi during long calls. HDMI at 60Hz is smooth on my 4K monitor, and the SD card slot means I can pull photos straight off my camera. Well thought-out hub.

  2. Alex Wekesa (verified owner) –

Solid aluminium body and it doesn’t get warm even when charging the laptop through it. 100W PD keeps my MacBook topped up while running the HDMI display and Ethernet. Delivery to Ngong Road was quick.

  3. Brenda Nyambura (verified owner) –

Does the job but the cable is quite short, so placement is limited. Otherwise the ports work as expected.

  4. Eric Maina (verified owner) –

We bought a few for the office and they’ve been reliable. The RJ45 connection is stable, and the two USB 3.0 ports handle our flash drives and card readers without complaints. Good bit of kit for hot-desking setups.

  5. Joyce Mueni (verified owner) –

Seven ports in something this small is impressive. I use the SD and TF slots constantly for transferring footage, and the HDMI output to my second screen is crisp. Only wish it had one more USB-A, but that’s a minor thing.

  6. Felix Oduor (verified owner) –

Works fine for the most part, though I noticed occasional flicker on the HDMI when my laptop is also charging. Unplugging the charger sorts it. Everything else—Ethernet, SD, USB—is fine.

  7. Caroline Atieno (verified owner) –

Nice compact hub for working from home. Ethernet and HDMI both work well with my Dell laptop.

  8. George Kariuki (verified owner) –

I was looking for a hub that could do wired internet and a 4K screen at the same time, and this CM512 delivers. The 60Hz refresh makes a real difference for spreadsheet work compared to the 30Hz hubs I’ve tried. Build quality is reassuring, and the SD/TF slots are a handy bonus for my photography side hustle.
