Description
Four-port USB 3.2 expansion for Type-C laptops
The Ugreen CM480 USB-C hub splits one Type-C host connector into four USB 3.2 Gen 2 interfaces, two Type-C and two Type-A. Each interface carries 10Gbps signalling, and the controller pools that bandwidth across all four ports. The layout suits laptops and tablets that ship with a single usable Type-C port.
An aluminium alloy shell surrounds the board and spreads heat during long transfers. The captive cable uses braided nylon and measures roughly 25cm, which keeps the adapter close to the host without a loose loop. The unit draws power from the host bus and needs no external supply. It weighs about 72g, so it travels in a laptop sleeve without adding bulk.
The controller negotiates USB 3.2 Gen 2 links at 10Gbps and steps down to Gen 1 or USB 2.0 rates on older hosts. OTG support lets compatible Android phones and tablets act as host. This 4-port adapter provides no video output and no pass-through charging, so it complements a full dock rather than replacing one.
Key Features
Four USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports
Two Type-C and two Type-A receptacles each accept 10Gbps devices, covering flash drives, SSDs, card readers and peripherals.Shared 10Gbps bandwidth pool
The four downstream ports divide a single 10Gbps uplink, so a bus-powered NVMe enclosure and a card reader will split the ceiling during simultaneous transfers.Aluminium alloy housing
- Rigid shell protects the PCB in a bag
- Metal body spreads heat away from the controller
- Grey finish resists fingerprints
Braided captive cable
Nylon braid over the 25cm lead resists bending stress at the strain relief, where most portable hubs fail.Bus-powered operation
The adapter draws current from the host and needs no power brick, which simplifies cabling on a shared desk.OTG host support
Compatible Android devices can mount keyboards, mice and storage through the Type-C uplink.Driver-free installation
Windows, macOS, Chrome OS, Android, iPadOS and Linux enumerate the hub without vendor software.

Why Choose the CM480
The 4-port USB-C hub gives two Type-C and two Type-A receptacles, so mixed fleets no longer need separate A-to-C dongles.
Gen 2 signalling moves large video files and disk images at 10Gbps on hosts that expose the full lane.
The bus-powered hub removes a power brick from the desk and keeps the cable count low.
Aluminium construction and a braided lead survive daily transport between office and site.
Plug-and-play enumeration keeps deployment simple for procurement teams rolling out standard laptop images.

Michael Onyango (verified owner) –
Compact hub that does exactly what the spec sheet says. The 25cm cable is stiffer than I expected but it has held up through daily coiling. No video out, so check your needs before ordering.
Judy Nyambura (verified owner) –
Ordered Thursday and it reached my desk in Nairobi on Monday. Plugged it into a Dell Latitude and all ports worked immediately. The cable is short but that suits a laptop sitting on a stand.
Tabitha Wanjiku (verified owner) –
Works on my Android tablet through OTG, which is what I wanted. Grey finish looks smart next to the laptop.
Ruth Chepkoech (verified owner) –
Fits my laptop bag easily and the braided cable feels stronger than the plastic hub I had before. All four ports read my flash drives without complaint. Wish it had a charging port, but I knew that before buying.
Emmanuel Kiptoo (verified owner) –
The shared 10Gbps ceiling is the honest limitation here. A single USB 3.2 drive moves fast, but two heavy transfers together slow each other down. For day-to-day office use with peripherals it is fine. Build quality is well above the price band.
Kariuki Mwangi (verified owner) –
We rolled this out to six staff with MacBooks that only have two Type-C ports. Setup took no driver installs and the four ports cover a keyboard, mouse, card reader and an SSD at once. Bandwidth sharing is noticeable when two drives run together, so plan around it.
Collins Otieno (verified owner) –
Moved a 40GB disk image from an external NVMe to my laptop through this hub and the transfer held near the Gen 2 ceiling. The two Type-C ports mean I no longer swap dongles between my phone and SSD. Aluminium body stays warm but never hot.
