Description
Bluetooth Audio and Fast Charging from One 12-24 V Socket
The Ugreen CD229 FM transmitter combines a Bluetooth 5.0 audio link, a hands-free microphone and a 31.5 W charging stage in a single cigarette-lighter plug. It streams phone audio to any car stereo tuned between 87.5 and 108 MHz in 100 kHz steps.
Charging splits across three ports. The USB-C port runs PD 3.0 at 20 W, the lightning-marked USB-A port runs QC 3.0 at 18 W, and the second USB-A port supplies 5 V 1.5 A while it reads a flash drive. A TF slot accepts cards up to 128 GB. Combined USB-C and USB-A1 draw reaches 5 V 4.8 A.
The aluminium alloy and PC-ABS shell measures roughly 40 x 51 x 72 mm and weighs 80 g. A voltage readout reports the vehicle battery level at key-on. CVC noise suppression and a built-in microphone handle calls at highway speed, and Bluetooth range is quoted at 5 m or more. The car FM modulator resumes the last track after a power cut.
Key Features
PD 20 W and QC 3.0 Outputs
The Type-C port delivers 20 W over PD 3.0 while the marked USB-A port supplies 18 W over QC 3.0.Port and Media Layout
- USB-C: 5 V 3 A, 9 V 2.22 A, 12 V 1.67 A
- USB-A1: 5 V 3 A, 9 V 2 A, 12 V 1.5 A
- USB-A2: 5 V 1.5 A with flash drive playback

FM Transmission Band
The tuner covers 87.5 to 108 MHz in 100 kHz steps, which leaves room to dodge a busy local station.CVC Call Processing
Echo and background suppression clean the uplink, and the rotary knob answers, rejects or redials.Battery Voltage Readout
The display reports battery voltage at key-on, which flags a weak cell before it strands a driver.Three Playback Sources
The TF card FM transmitter prioritises Bluetooth audio, then the last inserted USB drive or memory card.

What’s in the Box
CD229 Bluetooth FM transmitter car charger
Quick start guide
Why Choose Ugreen CD229
The 31.5W car adapter runs a phone and a dash camera from one socket.
A PD 20W car charger port refills a modern handset during a short commute.
The QC 3.0 car charger port keeps older Android devices on their native protocol.
The hands-free car kit keeps both hands on the wheel through incoming calls.
Bluetooth FM transmitter pairing repeats automatically after the first setup.

Reasonable unit. One of the two USB-C ports delivers noticeably more power than the other, so I keep the phone on the PD side and the dashcam on the other. Works well enough for the daily drive.
Faith Nyambura (verified owner) –
Compact enough to sit flush in the 12V socket of my Vitz, no rattling on bumpy roads. Call quality through the car speakers is clear.
Samuel Kiptoo (verified owner) –
We fitted these into three pool cars for the field sales team. The Bluetooth handoff works reliably and the built-in mic picks up calls without the echo you get from cheaper units. The 31.5W total means the driver can charge a phone and run a dash camera at the same time. The one wrinkle is that the FM signal weakens past about 40 km from Nairobi where the band gets crowded, so we set a fixed frequency in each car and told the drivers to leave it. For city use it holds up well.
Wanjiru Kamau (verified owner) –
Ordered on a Monday and it reached Ruiru by Wednesday. Works fine, but I had to try three FM frequencies before finding one without a KBC station bleeding through near Thika Road. Once locked in, the audio is clean.
Njoki Mwaura (verified owner) –
Bought this mainly for the two USB-C ports since my car has none built in. Charges the phone and my tablet at the same time without either slowing down. Bluetooth pairing sticks after the first setup, and the mic on calls has been clear enough that colleagues do not complain.
Kevin Otieno (verified owner) –
Does the job for music and charging. The only issue is that the display is a bit dim in direct afternoon sun, hard to read the frequency.
Brian Ochieng (verified owner) –
Installed this in my Toyota Axio for the daily commute to Industrial Area. Pairing with the phone takes a few seconds, and the FM frequency I picked on 87.5 stays clean along Mombasa Road. PD 20W tops up my phone fast on the way in.
Mercy Achieng (verified owner) –
Good buy. Both USB-C ports work and the QC 3.0 output charges my Samsung quickly.
