Function Activation Module for Toshiba e-Studio Copiers

The Toshiba GM-2290 enabler unlocks print and scan functions on e-Studio 2018A, 2518A, 3018A, 3518A, 4518A and 5018A series machines. It ships as a hardware dongle that plugs into the copier controller. The module carries a unique licence that binds to the host device.

Installation requires the service technician to seat the dongle in the designated port and enter the activation code through the service menu. The enabler then writes the licence to the controller NVRAM. Once active, the copier exposes printer and scanner drivers to the network.

The dongle measures approximately 40 mm by 20 mm by 10 mm and draws power from the copier interface. No external supply is needed. The module works with the standard Toshiba e-BRIDGE controller firmware and does not require a firmware update.
