Description
Twisted-Pair and Modular Cable Diagnostics
The TL-468 cable tester verifies continuity across RJ45 twisted-pair and RJ11/RJ12 modular links. It maps each conductor on its own and reports open, shorted or crossed pairs before a link goes live. The kit separates into a main unit and a detachable remote terminator.
Nine LEDs sit on both halves of the instrument. Each LED maps to one pin, so a technician reads wiring order at both ends of a run at the same time. The remote terminator plugs into the far jack and lets one person check an installed cable without a second operator. Detection reaches 100 m on standard UTP.
A single 9 V 6F22 battery powers the unit. The ABS housing measures roughly 105 x 70 x 26 mm and weighs 0.172 kg. Operating range runs from -10 °C to +60 °C, which covers risers, cabinets and unheated comms rooms.
