Single-Port USB-C Wall Adapter

The Samsung 45W charger is a single-port USB-C wall adapter rated for Super Fast Charging 2.0 at up to 45 W. Samsung builds it on a gallium nitride power stage, which holds the body to 43.5 x 84.8 x 28 mm and 115.4 g. A 1.8 m USB-C to USB-C 5A cable ships in the box.

The adapter accepts 100-240 V AC at 50 or 60 Hz and 1.2 A input, so it runs on European, UK and East African mains without a step-down converter. Four fixed PDOs deliver 5 V at 3 A, 9 V at 3 A, 15 V at 3 A and 20 V at 2.25 A. Three PPS ranges add 3.3-11 V at 4.05 A, 3.3-16 V at 2.8 A and 3.3-21 V at 2.1 A.

The bundled lead carries an E-Marker chip and supports 20 V at 5 A, or 100 W, so the same cable can feed laptops and tablets later. Samsung lists overcurrent, short-circuit and temperature protection, and the unit carries TUV SUD or CTK Korea assessment. Fixed prongs suit wall sockets and power strips without an adapter.
