The Powermax M406 socket is a surface-mount 13 A twin switched outlet in a steel metal-clad housing. Two independent switches control each gang, and the double-pole mechanism isolates both live and neutral. A grey epoxy powder coating resists corrosion in commercial and industrial rooms.

The outlet measures 146 mm wide by 86 mm high and 51 mm deep, with 120.6 mm fixing centres that match a standard single-gang back box. Each gang carries a 3-pin safety shutter and silver-tipped switch contacts. Dual earth terminals support high-integrity earthing on ring and radial circuits.

Rated at 230–250 V and 13 A per gang, the accessory meets BS 1363 and handles inductive loads through its fully rated contacts. Neutral make-first, break-last sequencing reduces arcing at the switch. The steel enclosure suits workshops, server rooms, kitchens and light industrial bays where plastic accessories would crack.
