Description
Duplex Multimode Fiber Jumper
The OM2 LC-SC patch cord links LC-equipped switches and transceivers to SC patch panels across a 1.5 m run. Two 50/125 µm multimode fibers sit in a zipcord jacket with UPC-polished ceramic ferrules. The assembly arrives factory-tested for insertion loss and return loss.
LC connectors occupy half the footprint of SC, so the small-form end suits high-density line cards and SFP ports. The SC end latches into fixed panels, cassettes and media converters. Both ends use UPC polish with a maximum insertion loss of 0.25 dB and a minimum return loss of 30 dB.
OM2 fiber carries 1 Gigabit Ethernet to 550 m and 10GBASE-SR to roughly 82 m. A low smoke zero halogen sheath limits toxic emission in occupied rooms and risers. The orange jacket marks multimode 50/125 cable for quick identification in dense cabinets.
