Description
850VA Standby Power with Voltage Correction
The Lightwave LW 850VA UPS is a standby unit with automatic voltage regulation, built for desktop PCs, routers, CCTV recorders and small office loads. It delivers 850VA apparent power and roughly 480W active power through three universal 3-pin outlets.
The unit accepts 145–290V AC input and holds a 230V AC output at 50/60Hz. A 2–6ms transfer time moves connected equipment to battery mode during outages. Output waveform is a stepped approximation of a sine wave, suitable for switch-mode power supplies.
A 12V/7Ah sealed lead-acid battery provides short ride-through for PC and network loads. Overload, short-circuit and overcharge protection are built in, with LED status indicators and audible alarms. The fanless chassis measures about 26 x 12 x 13cm and weighs roughly 4.1kg.
Key Features
Automatic Voltage Regulation
AVR corrects brownouts and surges without draining the battery, extending runtime and battery service life.Three Universal 3-Pin Outlets
- Accepts standard Kenyan 3-pin plugs directly
- Feeds PC, monitor, router and CCTV recorder from one unit
Fast Battery Transfer
A 2–6ms switchover keeps switch-mode power supplies running through brief mains interruptions.Maintenance-Free Battery
The 12V/7Ah sealed lead-acid block is user-replaceable and requires no electrolyte top-up.Protection Suite
Overload, short-circuit and overcharge circuits isolate connected equipment from abnormal mains conditions.LED Status and Alarms
Front indicators report mains, battery and fault states, with audible alerts for battery mode and overload.Fanless Compact Chassis
Passive cooling removes fan noise and dust ingress, suiting reception desks and small comms cabinets.

Why Choose the LW 850VA
The 480W active rating covers a desktop PC, monitor and router on a single unit.
AVR holds output steady through the voltage dips common on East African grids.
Fanless construction removes a mechanical failure point and keeps the unit silent.
Standard 3-pin sockets avoid the need for IEC-to-local plug adapters.
User-replaceable battery extends service life beyond the first cell.

Naomi Wanjiku (verified owner) –
Keeps my desktop running through short blackouts and the AVR has handled every surge so far. The three-pin sockets are the standard Kenyan type, so no adapters needed. Only downside is the unit was out of stock when I first checked, but once it arrived it was worth the wait.
Peter Mwangi (verified owner) –
Runs my router, monitor and PC together during outages. The 480W rating is honest and it doesn’t overheat under load.
Aisha Karanja (verified owner) –
Solid little UPS for the home office. The AVR keeps voltage steady when the estate supply fluctuates, and the alarm is loud enough to warn before shutdown. Bought two units after the first one proved reliable.
