Description

Portable Laptop Charging Station

The Lightwave 65W power bank is a 20,000mAh lithium-polymer pack built to carry a working laptop through a full day away from mains power. It provides two USB-C and two USB-A outputs, so one unit covers a notebook, a phone and a couple of accessories. The housing measures 180 x 80 x 25mm and weighs 480g, which suits a laptop bag rather than a trouser pocket.

USB-C1 delivers up to 65W over Power Delivery 3.0 with PPS support. That covers MacBook Air, MacBook Pro 13, Dell XPS, HP EliteBook and Lenovo ThinkPad models that charge over USB-C. USB-A1 and USB-A2 supply up to 22.5W each for handsets, earbuds and cameras. Total output caps at 65W when several devices share the load.

Recharging takes roughly 1.5 hours from a 65W PD adapter through USB-C, and the Lightning input accepts up to 24W from older Apple bricks. Pass-through charging powers a connected device while the pack itself tops up. The controller drops to standby after about 35 seconds of inactivity, and four LED indicators report remaining capacity.

Key Features

  • 65W USB-C Power Delivery
USB-C1 negotiates 5V to 20V at up to 3.25A for laptop charging.

  • Dual Recharge Inputs

    • USB-C input accepts up to 65W PD from a 20V/3.25A adapter
    • Lightning input accepts 5V/2.4A, 9V/2.22A and 12V/2A (24W)
  • Four Outputs With Smart Allocation
Two USB-C and two USB-A ports run four devices at once while the controller balances the load.

  • Cell Protection Stack

    • Overcharge, overcurrent, over-discharge and short-circuit cut-offs
    • UN38.3 and UL1642 cell certification, above 88% conversion efficiency
  • Cabin-Friendly 77Wh Rating
The pack stays under the 100Wh carry-on limit most airlines apply to lithium batteries.

Using it mainly for travel between Nairobi and Mombasa. It charged my work laptop on the SGR and still had enough left to top up my phone when I arrived. The build feels sturdy and the port layout makes sense. Took a star off because the LED indicator is quite subtle in daylight, but that’s minor. Overall a dependable travel companion for anyone carrying a laptop.

  2. Samuel Kiptoo (verified owner) –

Good value for a laptop-class power bank. Powers my ThinkPad through a full working day in the field. Would have liked a carry pouch included but the unit itself does the job.

  3. Kevin Mwangi (verified owner) –

I run a small boda-adjacent IT repair desk in Ngara and this has become my daily driver for testing laptops. The 20000mAh cell covers a full 65W laptop charge plus a couple of phone top-ups before it needs a refill. Two USB-C and two USB-A ports mean I can test several devices at once without unplugging. Only issue is it’s a bit weighty in the bag, but for the capacity that’s expected.

  4. Dennis Ochieng (verified owner) –

Solid unit, charges my XPS 13 without complaint. The four ports are handy but I mostly use the two USB-C ones. Slightly bulky for a pocket but fine in a laptop bag.

  5. Brian Otieno (verified owner) –

Picked this up for my Dell Latitude and it holds up well on site visits around Westlands. The USB-C1 port pushes enough to charge the laptop while my phone sits on the A port. Build feels solid and the four ports are genuinely useful when I’m on the road all day.

  6. Faith Wanjiru (verified owner) –

Delivery was quick, arrived well packaged. Using it for my HP EliteBook and it charges just fine.

  7. Mercy Njoki (verified owner) –

Bought it after my old bank kept dying during load-shedding hours. This one keeps the router and my phone running through the evening, and I’ve used it twice to charge a colleague’s laptop during a power cut at the office. The 65W output is the real deal, not a marketing number.

  8. Achieng Odhiambo (verified owner) –

The four ports are the reason I bought it. I can charge my MacBook, two phones and my earbuds case at the same time without a power strip. Recharge time on the bank itself is reasonable when I use a 65W adapter.
