Description
Two-Way IP68 Portable Speaker
The JBL Flip 7 Red is a portable Bluetooth speaker built around a two-way driver array and 30 W of rated output. JBL rates the racetrack woofer at 25 W RMS and the dome tweeter at 10 W RMS, with a 35 W maximum ceiling. The 45 x 80 mm woofer and 16 mm tweeter cover a 60 Hz to 20 kHz range at a signal-to-noise ratio above 80 dB.
Bluetooth 5.4 carries the A2DP 1.4 and AVRCP 1.6 profiles, with GFSK, π/4 DQPSK and 8DPSK modulation and transmit power at or below 14 dBm EIRP. Auracast support links multiple compatible units onto one stream. The JBL Portable app for iOS and Android exposes EQ control, Playtime Boost and over-the-air firmware updates.
A 17.28 Wh lithium-ion polymer cell, equivalent to 3.6 V at 4800 mAh, delivers 14 hours of playback and extends to 16 hours in Playtime Boost mode. Recharging from a 5 V/3 A source takes roughly 2.5 hours. The enclosure measures 18.3 x 7.0 x 7.2 cm and weighs 0.826 kg. IP68 sealing covers dust ingress and water submersion, and the shell resists drops.

Auracast paired both units cleanly, giving us stereo coverage across the room. The 14-hour battery rating held up in practice over two days of use with breaks. Volume is loud enough for a room of about twenty people. Only note is that the deep bass thins out slightly at very high volumes, but for the size that is expected. Delivery was prompt.
