eKit WLAN Controller for SOHO and Branch Networks

The Huawei AC650-128AP is a box-type wireless access controller built for small office, home office and small campus deployments. It manages up to 128 access points with the licence capacity already built into the chassis, so commissioning does not require separate per-AP licence codes. The controller also integrates a Gigabit Ethernet switch fabric, giving wired and wireless clients one managed access layer instead of two separate devices.

Ten 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ45 ports terminate access-layer copper links. Two 10GE SFP+ cages provide optical uplinks to a distribution switch or core, giving the unit a 10 Gbps forwarding capability and a rated forwarding rate of 10000 Mpps. One RJ45 console port and a single USB 2.0 Type A port complete the physical interface set; the USB socket accepts a flash drive to extend local storage.

A 12 V DC external adapter supplies power and the fanless chassis draws a maximum of 23.58 W, dissipating 80.45 BTU per hour. The case measures 43.6 x 250 x 210 mm and weighs 1.9 kg, and it installs in a 19-inch rack, on a desk or on a wall. Service-port surge protection is rated at 6 kV in common mode.

  1+1 hot standby and N+1 backup protect the control plane, while LACP or MSTP port backup protects the uplinks; local forwarding keeps clients online if the AP loses its controller link.

• Layer 4 to Layer 7 Application Awareness
  The built-in identification engine recognises more than 6000 applications and applies blocking, rate limiting or priority rules per application.

• Web and Cloud Management
  A built-in web system provides one-page health monitoring, AP-group profile configuration that can be copied between groups, and one-click diagnosis for users, APs and the controller itself.
