The HP EliteBook 840 G6 is a 14-inch business notebook built around an 8th-generation Intel Core i7-8565U. The quad-core processor runs eight threads from 1.8 GHz to 4.6 GHz with 8MB of cache. A 256GB PCIe NVMe SSD and 16GB of DDR4-2400 memory handle office workloads and virtual machines.
The 14-inch FHD IPS panel resolves 1920 x 1080 at 157 PPI with an anti-glare coating, 250 nits brightness and 45% NTSC coverage. Intel UHD Graphics 620 drives the internal display and an external monitor over HDMI 1.4b. Two SO-DIMM slots accept up to 32GB, so memory upgrades stay straightforward.
Connectivity covers Wi-Fi 6 through the Intel AX200 module and Bluetooth 5.0. A Gigabit Ethernet port uses the Intel I219-V controller. The chassis carries two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports, one Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port, HDMI 1.4b, a 3.5mm combo jack and a dedicated docking connector.
