Description

Entry Business Notebook Platform

The HP 250R G10 C91W6AT is a 15.6-inch business notebook built around the Intel Core 3 100U processor, 8 GB of DDR4-3200 memory and a 512 GB PCIe NVMe solid state drive. It ships with FreeDOS, so IT teams can deploy their own image and licensing without paying for a preinstalled Windows licence. The chassis measures 35.98 x 23.6 x 1.17 cm at the front edge and weighs from 1.59 kg, which keeps bulk fleet rollouts manageable.

The panel is a 15.6-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) unit with a narrow bezel, anti-glare coating and 250 nits of brightness at 45% NTSC. Anti-glare surfacing matters in offices with overhead lighting, because it cuts specular reflections that wash out glossy screens. The Core 3 100U runs 6 cores and 8 threads with a 10 MB L3 cache and turbo frequency up to 4.7 GHz, which covers document work, browser tabs and thin-client sessions. Two SODIMM slots carry the DDR4-3200 memory, and the platform supports dual-channel operation when both slots are populated.

Key Features

  • Hexa-Core Intel Processing
The Core 3 100U pairs 2 performance cores with 4 efficiency cores for 8 threads and a 10 MB L3 cache.

  • Full-Function USB-C Port

    • 10 Gbps signalling rate with USB Power Delivery and DisplayPort 1.4 alt mode
    • HP Sleep and Charge support for powering accessories while the lid is closed
  • Dual Memory and M.2 Storage Slots
Two SODIMM sockets accept DDR4-3200 modules, and the M.2 slot holds the factory 512 GB NVMe drive.

  • Collaboration Hardware
A 720p HD camera with temporal noise reduction sits above dual array microphones and stereo speakers.

  • Spill-Resistant Keyboard
The full-size flint opaque keyboard includes a numeric keypad and a drainage layer beneath the keys.

  • Fast Charge Battery
The internal 3-cell 41 Wh Li-ion polymer pack reaches 50% charge in 45 minutes with the supplied adapter.

Why Choose This Notebook

  • FreeDOS delivery removes OS licensing from the unit cost and lets administrators image the drive to their own standard.

  • The single USB-C connector carries data, video and power, so a docking setup needs one cable instead of three.

  • Replaceable SODIMM memory and an M.2 storage slot give service teams room to extend the service life of each unit.

  • Anti-glare FHD panel and a spill-resistant keyboard suit shared desks, hot-desking and field use.

  • The 1.59 kg chassis with a 41 Wh battery keeps travel weight low for staff who move between sites.

  1. Grace Muthoni (verified owner) –

I was skeptical about the 250 nits screen but it’s usable indoors. The 720p camera is basic, fine for casual calls. Speakers are average, I use headphones via the combo jack. Overall a practical buy for home office.

  2. Wanjiru Kamau (verified owner) –

Ordered this for my daughter joining campus. The 512GB NVMe is quick, boots in seconds even with FreeDOS (I installed Linux). Screen is bright enough for daytime use. Delivery to Nakuru was smooth.

  3. Amina Hassan (verified owner) –

Good value. I use it for browsing, Zoom and light Excel. The 8GB RAM handles multitasking fine. Anti-glare screen helps with reflections. FreeDOS means you sort your own OS, which I did.

  4. Brian Ochieng (verified owner) –

Solid office machine. The USB-C with Power Delivery and DisplayPort is a nice touch for a budget laptop. Keyboard feels okay for typing reports. Only wish it had a backlit keyboard, but for the price it’s fair.

  5. Samuel Kiprop (verified owner) –

Decent laptop but the FreeDOS part slowed me down since I had to source Windows separately. Once set up, performance is good for the price. The NVMe SSD is the star here. Would recommend for basic use.

  6. Njeri Wambui (verified owner) –

Fast delivery within Nairobi. Laptop is light and the narrow bezel makes the 15.6″ screen feel bigger. Battery life is average, around 5-6 hours on light use. Good for students.

  7. Peter Mwangi (verified owner) –

The Core 3-100U is efficient and doesn’t heat up much. I added a 16GB stick later but 8GB was okay for basic tasks. HDMI 1.4b works with my external monitor. Turbo silver looks clean.

  8. Kevin Otieno (verified owner) –

Works well. No issues so far.
