Description
Dahua 5MP 16-Channel XVR
The Dahua XVR5116HS 16-Channel XVR ingests sixteen coax camera streams at up to 5MP resolution per channel. HDCVI, AHD, TVI, and CVBS auto-detection allows mixed camera generations on one chassis. A single SATA slot holds drives up to 16TB to balance high 5MP bitrates with multi-week retention targets.
Security staff view live and recorded video on HDMI or VGA monitors connected directly to the unit. RJ45 Ethernet provides remote configuration, mobile viewing, and event notification through Dahua software. Two USB interfaces handle mouse input and optional clip export to flash storage. Two-way audio functions on channels wired to audio-enabled 5MP HDCVI cameras.
Sixteen 5MP channels suit grocery stores, distribution corridors, and school campuses that already run coax backbone. Higher resolution improves digital zoom on playback when investigating shrink and access violations. Plan storage capacity using total combined bitrate across all active channels at peak hours.
The recorder acts as the encoding head-end for the entire coax plant. Cameras remain passive endpoints powered by centralized 12V supplies or individual PSUs. This topology limits broadcast traffic on the IP network to clients pulling streams from the XVR rather than from each camera.
Alarm integration ties door forced events to increased frame rates on selected channels. User permissions segregate live view and playback by operator role in multi-tenant buildings. Health dashboards report camera loss, disk errors, and network disconnect for proactive maintenance.
