Description
Compact USB-A Storage for Vehicle and Desktop Use
The Dahua 64GB flash drive is a USB-A stick built for in-car audio, signage players and general file transfer. It measures 19.6 × 15.2 × 7.2 mm and weighs roughly 2.2 g. The body carries no cap, so the connector sits exposed for quick insertion.
The USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface runs at 5 Gb/s signalling and stays backward compatible with USB 2.0 hosts. Dahua rates sequential reads between 15 MB/s and 150 MB/s, with writes between 6 MB/s and 100 MB/s. Real throughput depends on the host controller, port type and file size mix.
The 64 GB variant ships formatted as exFAT, which stores files larger than 4 GB without splitting. Host support covers Windows 7 and later, macOS 10.5 and later, Linux 2.4.x and later, and Android 7.0 and later. Peak draw reaches 220 mA at 5 V.
Key Features
USB 3.2 Gen 1 Interface
The 5 Gb/s link negotiates down to USB 2.0 on legacy ports without an adapter.Rated Transfer Envelope
Dahua specifies up to 150 MB/s reads and 100 MB/s writes for the 64 GB capacity point.Capless Micro Housing
- 19.6 × 15.2 × 7.2 mm body leaves adjacent ports accessible
- No cap to lose inside a vehicle cabin or equipment bag
- 2.2 g net weight keeps the drive seated without strain on the socket
exFAT File System
The 64 GB unit arrives preformatted in exFAT for cross-platform reads on Windows, macOS and Linux.Shock and Drop Tolerance
The solid-state construction carries no moving parts, so vibration in a vehicle or DVR chassis does not affect operation.Wide Host Compatibility
Driver support is built into Windows 7 and above, macOS 10.5 and above, Linux 2.4.x and above, and Android 7.0 and above.

Why Choose the U166 64GB
The metal-free micro body fits behind a laptop lid or inside a car stereo fascia without fouling neighbouring ports.
exFAT formatting removes the 4 GB file ceiling that FAT32 imposes on video and backup archives.
USB 3.2 Gen 1 backward compatibility lets one stock item serve both new and legacy machines.
A 5-year limited warranty covers the drive across fleet and office deployment cycles.

Needed a compact drive for our reception PC that would not block the adjacent port, and this Dahua U166 fits the bill. It has been in daily use for a few weeks with no disconnection issues. Only wish the keychain loop were slightly larger so I could thread it onto a lanyard.

The exFAT format is a small but useful detail. I swap files between a Windows workstation and a MacBook in the design team, and this drive reads on both without any conversion. Read speed is close to 140 MB/s in my testing, which keeps the workflow moving.

Delivery was prompt and the drive arrived sealed. I copied my entire photo archive to it and verified checksums without errors. The 64GB capacity is enough for routine backups between the office and home.

Bought three of these for the IT bench to carry firmware installers. The USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface keeps flashing times short compared to the old 2.0 sticks we had. The metal housing feels solid in the hand and the cap fits tightly. One small gripe is the drive gets warm under sustained writes, but nothing concerning. Works well with the Dahua NVR firmware files we push out weekly.

Small, fast enough, does the job.

I use this to move reports between our Mombasa Road office and the field team. exFAT means the same stick works on Windows and Mac without reformatting. Copying a 4GB video file took a couple of minutes, which is acceptable.

The low-profile body sits flush in the USB port, so it stays plugged into my laptop during transit without snapping. Read speeds come close to the quoted 150 MB/s when pulling large CAD files. Good build for the size.
