Description
Dual-Light Turret Camera for Entry-Level Sites
The Dahua 2MP eyeball camera pairs a 1/2.8″ progressive-scan CMOS sensor with a 2.8 mm fixed-focal M12 lens to deliver 1920 × 1080 video at 25/30 fps. One IR LED and one warm-light illuminator each reach 30 m, so the unit can switch from covert infrared to visible white light when a target appears.
Encoding covers H.265, H.264 (Baseline, High, H.264H) and MJPEG on the sub stream, with Smart H.265+ and Smart H.264+ reducing bit rate to 12 kbps–4096 kbps. Two streams, four ROI zones, DWDR, 3D NR, HLC, BLC, four privacy masks and 0°/90°/180°/270° image rotation cover most entry-level scenes.
Power arrives through 12 VDC or PoE 802.3af, drawing 1.8 W basic and 5.6 W maximum over PoE with the illuminator at full intensity. The IP67 housing uses a metal inner core and plastic cover, runs from –40 °C to +60 °C, and a built-in microphone records G.711a, G.711Mu, PCM and G.726 audio.
Key Features
Smart Dual Light Illumination
Infrared and warm white LEDs both cover 30 m, with automatic switching between them.On-Device Human Classification

- Motion detection across four rectangular areas, plus video tampering and audio detection alarms
- DWDR, 3D NR, HLC and BLC for high-contrast or backlit fields
- Four privacy masks and four region-of-interest zones
Network and Integration
RJ-45 10/100 Base-T, ONVIF Profile S and Profile T, CGI, RTSP, and six simultaneous hosts at 24 M total bandwidth.

Why Choose This Dahua Turret
The dual-light design keeps covert surveillance at night while enabling colour evidence capture on alarm events.
H.265+ bit-rate control lowers storage and uplink load on entry-level recorders and switches.
IP67 sealing and a –40 °C to +60 °C range allow wall or soffit mounting in exposed positions.
ONVIF interoperability and RTSP streaming integrate with third-party VMS platforms and NVR fleets.

Solid little camera. PoE setup was straightforward and the 30 m IR covers our compound wall without issue. Delivered to Nakuru in good time.

Good value entry-level camera. Housing feels durable and the adjustment ring holds position after mounting on a wall bracket.

Installed two of these on our shop’s back entrance and the dual light works well at night. Colour image is clear once the warm light kicks in, and IR takes over further out. 2.8mm lens gives a wide view of the whole doorway.

We replaced two older bullet cameras with these eyeball units at the office reception. Picture quality at 2MP is adequate for identifying visitors at the door, and the smart dual light means we get usable colour footage after dark instead of grainy black and white. Setup with our Dahua NVR was plug and play.

Used these for a small school corridor install. The 2.8mm fixed lens covers the full length of the passage from one corner. Night vision is decent, though I would have preferred a slightly longer focal length for the far end. Overall a sensible choice for budget-conscious deployments where colour detail at night matters.
