Description
N300 Single-Band Wireless Router
The Cudy WR300 router delivers 300 Mbps over the 2.4 GHz band through two fixed spatial streams. A 580 MHz single-core MIPS24KEC processor pairs with 64 MB of DDR2 memory and 8 MB of NOR flash. Four 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports handle wired distribution.
The WR300 1.0 supports IEEE 802.11n/g/b and operates at a maximum channel width of 40 MHz. Two internal power amplifiers drive the non-detachable antennas. Transmit power reaches 20 dBm under CE limits and 30 dBm under FCC rules.
Power comes from an external 5V/1A DC adapter. The router measures 118 x 80 x 27.5 mm and weighs 120 g. It runs at 0 to 40 °C and tolerates 10 to 90 percent non-condensing humidity. Cudy ships the unit with a one-year warranty.
Key Features
Multi-Mode Operation
The unit runs as a router, access point, range extender, WISP client or Cudy Mesh satellite.Four Fast Ethernet Ports
One WAN port accepts DHCP, static IP, PPPoE, PPTP or L2TP uplinks, and three LAN ports feed wired clients.VPN Client Support
- WireGuard, L2TP and PPTP client protocols
- Measured throughput of 43 Mbps uplink and 49 Mbps downlink over WireGuard
- Useful for branch-office tunnels without extra hardware
Cudy Mesh Satellite
The router joins a Cudy Mesh network over wireless or wired backhaul to extend coverage.Wireless Security
WPA, WPA2 and WPA3 encryption cover the 2.4 GHz guest and main SSIDs.Compact Desktop Chassis
The 120 g shell fits on a shelf or wall bracket and draws power from a 5V/1A adapter.

Why Choose the WR300
The 300 Mbps 2.4 GHz link covers small offices, reception areas and retail counters where cabling is impractical.
Five operating modes let technicians repurpose the unit as an access point or range extender during site surveys.
Built-in WireGuard support establishes encrypted tunnels to a head office without a separate VPN appliance.
Cudy Mesh compatibility allows a staged rollout: start with one unit and add satellites as coverage demands grow.
The 5V/1A power draw suits UPS-backed sockets and small solar installations.

I set this up in our small salon to give staff Wi-Fi and to plug in the M-Pesa till via cable. The 4 ports matter because most of the cheaper routers only have 2, and we needed the till plus a printer connected. The admin page is basic but easy to navigate. One thing to note: it is 2.4GHz only, so do not expect 5GHz speeds, but for a small shop it covers the space fine.

Small, cheap, and does the job.

Arrived well packaged and worked first time. I set it up in my parents’ house where they only needed Wi-Fi for a phone and a smart TV, and the N300 bandwidth is more than enough for that.

Bought this to replace a router at our hardware shop in Gikomba. The 4 LAN ports were the main draw since we have a POS terminal and a printer on cable. The 2.4GHz signal covers the shop floor well, and setup through the web interface took under ten minutes. Good value for a basic router.
