Description
AC1200 Dual-Band Router with Five Operating Modes
The Cudy WR1200 AC1200 is a 4-stream Wi-Fi 5 router that delivers 867 Mbps on the 5 GHz band and 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. It carries five 10/100 Mbps RJ-45 ports, four fixed high-gain antennas, and a MediaTek MT7628 single-core CPU clocked at 580 MHz. The unit ships with 64 MB DDR2 RAM and 8 MB NOR flash.
Both radio chains run 2×2 MIMO with MU-MIMO and beamforming support. Cudy rates the platform for 40 concurrent clients and roughly 100 m² of coverage. The 5 GHz band handles video streaming and low-latency traffic, while the 2.4 GHz band carries legacy clients and IoT devices across longer distances.
Five modes cover router, access point, range extender, WISP, and client operation. The router accepts a 12 V 1 A DC input from the bundled adapter and measures 220 x 135 x 30 mm at about 249 g. Wall mounting and desktop placement both work, and the chassis operates from 0 °C to 40 °C at 10 to 90 percent non-condensing humidity.
Key Features

The 2×2 5 GHz radio reaches 867 Mbps and the 2×2 2.4 GHz radio reaches 300 Mbps for a combined 1167 Mbps.Five Fast Ethernet Ports
One RJ-45 port serves as WAN and the remaining four as LAN, each rated at 10/100 Mbps.Multi-Mode Deployment
- Router mode for direct WAN connection through DHCP, static IP, or PPPoE
- Access point, range extender, WISP, and client modes for existing networks
- WPS and reset buttons on the rear panel
Built-In VPN Clients
OpenVPN, WireGuard, PPTP, and L2TP clients route traffic through an encrypted tunnel without a separate gateway.WPA3 and Guest Network

Why Choose the WR1200
Five modes let one unit serve as a primary router, a wired access point, or a wireless bridge without extra hardware.
MU-MIMO and beamforming improve throughput when several clients stream at the same time.
Native VPN client support keeps remote sessions encrypted at the router level.
WPA3 and guest SSIDs separate visitor traffic from internal devices.
The 12 V 1 A input and 220 mm footprint fit standard network shelves and wall brackets.

The four antennas give solid coverage across my three-bedroom flat. 5GHz band handles streaming on the TV while the 2.4GHz keeps the phones connected. Simple setup too.

Set this up at the shop for our POS terminals and CCTV. The five Ethernet ports mean I didn’t need a separate switch. Fair warning: the ports are Fast Ethernet, so don’t expect gigabit speeds on the LAN side.

Good value router. Signal is stable and the app makes setup quick.

Replaced an aging router in our office reception and the difference is noticeable. AC1200 handles the traffic from about ten devices without dropping. Packaging was intact and delivery was on time.

The dual-band split is the main reason I bought this — my previous single-band router choked when everyone came home and started streaming. Now the 5GHz band carries the heavy traffic and the 2.4GHz handles the smart bulbs and older phones without fighting for bandwidth. Setup through the web interface was straightforward, though the admin page is a bit sparse. Coverage reaches the back bedroom and the balcony without a repeater.
