The panel runs a 2560 × 1600 native resolution at 227 pixels per inch on IPS technology. Brightness sits near 300 nits with wide colour coverage, which matches the original Retina output. A controller board and ribbon cable carry the video signals to the logic board.

Space Grey anodised aluminium matches the A1708 chassis finish. The two Thunderbolt 3 models covered are EMC 2978 for 2016 and EMC 3164 for 2017. Hinge tension and antenna routing demand care during fitting, so professional installation is recommended.
