The Ubiquiti G5 Dome Ultra provides high-definition 4MP video surveillance in a compact form factor. This unit features a black housing for discrete placement in dark ceilings or outdoor eaves. It integrates a 1/2.4-inch CMOS sensor to capture 2688 x 1512 resolution at 30 frames per second. The fixed focal length lens offers a 102.4-degree horizontal field of view. This coverage ensures wide-area monitoring with minimal distortion across the frame. The optical assembly includes an IR cut filter to manage lighting transitions automatically.
The hardware utilizes an IPX4-rated enclosure for moisture resistance in sheltered outdoor locations. It operates reliably in temperatures ranging from -20 to 40 degrees Celsius. High-power infrared LEDs provide visibility up to 20 meters in total darkness. This black surveillance device requires a UniFi Protect Network Video Recorder for full management. It connects via a single 10/100 MbE RJ45 port. Power delivery follows the 802.3af PoE standard for simplified installation. Maximum power consumption remains under 4 watts during full IR operation.

I was surprised by how small this G5 Dome Ultra actually is. It’s very discreet compared to the older models. We installed it on a dark gypsum ceiling in our Westlands office and you can barely notice it. The 2K resolution is crisp enough to see faces clearly at the entrance. Good stuff.

The build quality is solid for the price point. For an ‘Ultra’ model, it really delivers on the 2K sensor. I have it monitoring our server room and the detail is impressive compared to the older G3 domes. Just a heads up, it doesn’t come with a patch cord in the box, so make sure your cabling is ready. Night vision is also quite decent for such a small lens.
